i've been feeling a bit 'detached' for a while now.  detached from my old life, i guess.  in the last year, i've been to a few parties and i just can't relate anymore.  i don't see the joy of getting crunked, even just for a little bit.  it's always nice to see friends but somehow even that is not the same.  it seems that they're all in these little cliques now.  inside jokes and all.  it's not as welcoming as it used to be.

there is an upside to all of these.  i'm closer than i've ever been to my family and to dan's family.  i guess priorities just change as you get older.  there are some friendships that still feel the same though.  maybe those are the ones that are supposed to last.  you know.  the ones that you don't see for a long time but when you see them, it's as if you just saw them yesterday.  yup.  those are the ones of gold, it can be molded through time.

anyway, enough introspection.  here's a little quote that i made up about marriage...

"marriage is both a blessing and a privilege.
it is a blessing to find the one that fills your heart with happiness and joy.
it is a privilege to have that love requited with a commitment everlasting."

thanks to my wonderful husband of almost 4 years!  gosh, it's actually been 10 and a half years altogether since an innocent game of spades....
